Who this covers

This policy applies to the website at comtau.com, operated by Comtau (“Comtau”, “we”, “us”). It covers information handled through this website. It does not describe how we handle information within client engagements; that is agreed separately with each client.

Information you send us

If you contact us through the contact form, you send us:

  • your name
  • your work email address
  • your company name, if you choose to add it
  • the message you write

Please don’t include sensitive personal information or confidential technical details in a first message. We can agree how to exchange those once we are in contact.

Technical information

Like any website, every page request is handled by a web server, which necessarily receives standard request information: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. This may be recorded in routine server logs by the infrastructure that hosts the site.

The website’s own code does not add analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or profiling on top of this.

Analytics, cookies and tracking

  • No analytics tools are installed.
  • No advertising, marketing or social-media pixels are installed.
  • The website does not set cookies.
  • The website does not use local storage, session storage or similar browser storage.
  • Campaign parameters in a link you followed (such as utm_source) are not read or stored by the website. They remain part of the page address and may appear in the standard request information described above.

More detail is on the Cookie Policy page.

Third-party services

The website does not load scripts, fonts, videos, maps, booking widgets or other embedded content from third parties. Fonts are served from this site. Your browser therefore does not contact other companies’ servers when you view these pages.

If a page links to another website and you follow that link, the other website’s own privacy policy applies.

How we use information

We use information you send us to:

  • read and reply to your enquiry
  • discuss whether and how we can help, and continue that conversation if you want to

Standard request information is used only to deliver the website and keep it secure and working. We don’t sell personal information and we don’t use it for advertising.

Sharing

We share information only where needed to operate the website - for example with the provider that hosts it - or where the law requires us to. We don’t sell, rent or trade it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it is needed to respond to you and to handle any relationship that follows, and delete it when it is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete it sooner (see below).

Security

The website is a static site delivered over HTTPS, with no user accounts and no third-party scripts. See the Security page for what that means in practice.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you further rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

You can use this website without giving us any personal information. Sending a message is always optional.

Changes to this policy

If the website starts handling information differently - for example by adding a tool that collects data - we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
